Hello everybody, my name is Monte Eggers. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Now you're probably wondering, “Who's this Monte guy anyway?” Glad you asked!
Here's a little background about myself 😉
I currently reside with my wife Heather, and our four (yes, 4) awesome children in western Wisconsin. I am originally from North Dakota, and moved here back in 2006 for at the time a better job, and better work opportunities.
In my spare time I love to play the drums for my church worship band, and obviously do a little cooking on the side! Other hobbies of mine include hunting, fishing, playing basketball and baseball with my kids, and when 2016 hits, I'll be doing a “boot camp” with my wife to loose some of this weight I've put on in the last three months!
When I see something that I truly believe in, I make it a goal to try my best, and finish it strong.
So why blog about cast iron cookware? Let me share a little story.
For the last 10 years, I've been a sheet metal/HVAC worker in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The construction industry can be hit or miss, and getting laid off when work is slow seems to be “the norm” in the winter time.
In September 11th of 2015, that exact thing happened to me. In order to keep myself occupied, I rediscovered my passion for cooking, and for cast iron cookware.
So with some encouragement from my church pastor and close friends, I launched this blog and decided to share my knowledge with others as I learn more and more about using cast iron for everyday cooking.
You might even notice that I promote Lodge Manufacturing cookware on this website via my Amazon store. So if you feel compelled, and are interested in purchasing any Lodge products, please click on the Amazon picture on the right side of my blog.
As a side note, if you're interested in learning how to start a blog about your passions, I'd love to learn more about you and your dreams and goals, so I can help you achieve the success that you desire.
I am looking forward to working with you on a one-on-one basis.
Like the great Zig Ziglar says…”You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
All the best,
The Cast Iron Marketer
